Aren’t they adorable?
The Eldest and his new family came for a short visit over the weekend before he leaves for Korea on Friday.
It was a great visit. The Baby and the Grandbaby played relatively nicely. Well, as nicely as two 2-year-old children can. There were some tears and some temper tantrums but overall, things went well.
We ate a lot of food. Talked a lot. Got to know our daughter in law and grandbaby, and thoroughly enjoyed having too many people in a small space. Nobody got to bed on time, and the kids handled that very well.
We will miss the Eldest like crazy. As a mom, I’m sick with worry. But, he has his head on his shoulders and is doing the right thing. The Army will take care of him, I know that. But, you still worry.
Luckily, the world is a small place. And email and telephone calls will keep us close. We will be seeing our daughter in law and granddaughter soon. They cannot go with him this time. I have to say, I’m kind of glad. I’m pretty sure I would go out of my mind with worry knowing that my pregnant daughter in law was in Korea right now.
Please keep all our soldiers in your thoughts and prayers. Whatever your political views, they are still our sons and daughters. They need our support. And, their families miss them every day.
