How one geeky Mom combines technology and old fashioned values to raise her babies.

Independence Day July 4, 2010

Today is Independence Day here in the United States. Our celebration was yesterday because of work schedules and such. Steve and I realized we had become incredibly reclusive (more about that tomorrow) when we realized that we hadn’t seen some of our family in almost a year. It is rather disconcerting to find out that babies you still consider newborns are now walking!

Isn’t he cute? Just look at those curls! Our three year old had the same type of curls when he was a year old. I cried when Steve finally convinced me to cut them off.

We had a blast just playing with our kids. No tvs, computers, cooking or cleaning involved.

There were fireworks, but we didn’t stay for them. Steve and I were tired from getting up early and the baby hadn’t had a good nap all day. He was very happy, but we knew if he got too tired we’d be in for a very long night. Even though we left when we did, he was a bit fussy when we got home. Don’t be taken in by the innocent look on his face.

It was a wonderful day and served to remind us that there is life outside the computer!
