Yesterday my four year old went on a trip with his Gramma. During the trip, they stopped at a Walmart which had the always entertaining “Claw” machine. When they returned home, my baby came running in the door screaming “Mom, Mom, where are you?” I quickly went to him, thinking something was wrong or that he was worried that I wasn’t home.
As soon as he saw me, he thrust this bear in my hands. “Here, Mom, I won this for you. I had to get the claws, which look like fingernail clippers, around his head. I got it around its head, Mom.” He was so proud of himself. I had to fight back tears.
His Gramma said he did indeed win this bear for me all by himself. She was just the person who put the quarters in the machine. My beautiful pink bear now has permanent residence right next to my childhood Raggedy Ann on the top of my dresser. I have never loved a bear so much!
